Our History

Operating from our centre in Leamington Spa, The Fetal Imaging Centre was established in 2000, initially to provide the nuchal translucency screening test and we are a registered centre of the Fetal Medicine Foundation in London. Since then there has been a dramatic growth in the number of people wishing to have their pregnancy scans at a private centre.

We are owned and directly managed by the clinical sonographers who established the business and between them have many years of experience in the field of obstetric ultrasound.

We believe that the key to our success has been the direct hands-on involvement of the management.

Our Aim

…is to provide a service which is entirely parent focussed and to complement the service provided by your clinical care team. An appointment for an ultrasound scan is a mixture of eager anticipation but tinged with a degree of apprehension. The vast majority of babies are born completely healthy but that does not stop a degree of anxiety until you have that extra reassurance about your baby's well-being.

We know that to be able to have your scan in a calm, unhurried atmosphere, where the sonographer has plenty of time to answer all your questions, is preferable. This is why so many people choose to visit The Fetal Imaging Centre, as our only target is the well being of you and your baby and to ensure that you leave feeling entirely satisfied. Indeed many parents now visit us for scans which are normally provided by the NHS, simply to be allowed more time and to feel less hurried.
